Who We Are and Why We're Here

Seven years ago, we started fervosio with one straightforward idea: financial decisions shouldn't feel overwhelming or inaccessible.

Our Beginning in 2018

We opened our Bendigo office in autumn 2018. The banking sector was shifting after the Royal Commission, and people were asking harder questions about their money. Small businesses especially felt stuck between complex advice they couldn't afford and generic tools that didn't fit their situation.

So we built something different. Not revolutionary—just practical. A service where someone could actually talk through their choices without feeling pushed toward products they didn't understand.

It took us nearly six months to get our first ten clients. But those early conversations shaped everything we do now.

How We've Grown Since Then

Each year brought new challenges and taught us something about what actually helps people make better financial decisions.

2018-2019

Finding Our Direction

Started with cash flow planning for local trades. Learned that most people just wanted clarity on whether they could afford their next step—expansion, equipment, hiring. We stopped trying to be comprehensive and focused on answering specific questions well.

2020

The Pandemic Shift

Helped 47 businesses through JobKeeper decisions and debt restructuring. That period changed us. Speed mattered more than perfection. We built simple scenario tools that let people see their options within hours, not weeks. Many of those clients still work with us today.

2021-2022

Building Our Team

Brought on our first analysts and expanded to property investment planning. This is when we developed our comparison framework—a way to show pros and cons without steering people. It sounds obvious, but most advice tends to push you one direction. We wanted something more balanced.

2023-2024

Regional Partnerships

Connected with accountants and mortgage brokers across Victoria. Discovered we worked best as part of a wider team rather than trying to do everything ourselves. Our role became clearer: help people understand their numbers before they made big commitments.

2025 Forward

Where We're Headed

Currently developing better tools for succession planning and business transitions. These decisions take years, not months. We're focused on creating resources that people can return to as their situation changes—not just one-time consultations.

Real Results From Different Starting Points

Every client comes to us with different goals. Here's what we've helped people work through over the past few years.

Construction Trades

Equipment Investment Decision

Builder needed to decide between leasing or purchasing excavation equipment. We mapped cash flow impacts over three and five year timeframes, factoring in maintenance and resale considerations.

Chose 5-year purchase plan with staged payments
Maintained working capital flexibility
Made informed decision within two weeks
Retail Business

Expansion Timing Analysis

Cafe owner considering second location during rising interest rates. We built scenarios around different timing options and financing structures to show break-even timelines.

Delayed expansion by eight months
Used waiting period to strengthen balance sheet
Opened second location on better terms
Professional Services

Partnership Buyout Structure

Solicitor buying out retiring partner needed clarity on payment structure options. We compared lump sum versus staged payments, looking at tax implications and practice cash flow.

Selected hybrid payment structure
Protected practice liquidity during transition
Clear five-year completion pathway
Financial analysis session showing detailed planning documents and collaborative discussion
Business owner reviewing financial projections and scenario planning materials

The People Behind fervosio

Small team, focused approach. We'd rather do fewer things properly than spread ourselves too thin.
